As a lover of body painting and face painting art, I decided to create a photo essay hub, to show the beautiful side of this artistry. Even though, make up has been around for thousands of years, I think that you will fine that these images, truly express the beauty behind wearing make up. We all have grown up with the images of the ancient Egyptians dawning black eyeliner, which enhanced their eyes and made them look more erotic. We have also grown accustom to the make up style of the Victorian Era- with their pale skin and rosy pink cheeks and chins. We have even survived through the make up style, of the wild and out 60's, and all the way through the 80's,. Nevertheless, this art below us stands miles away from that creativity. While bringing a whole new definition to the art of wearing make up.

Great photo essay. There is someting spiritual, if you will, about these representations, because the way we adorn our bodies, is an attempt to capture what's going on the inside, and show that to the world. I like the image, third from the bottom the best -- she reminds me of Avatar!
