How to Make A Spiffy Voodoo Doll

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to make a voodoo doll. Why? I couldn't tell you why, I just know I want too. Needless to say, when I went about doing some research on this subject matter, I found all sorts of how to websites. Apparently I am not the only one curious about making a voodoo doll. Seems to me, this is a very popular search engine topic. With plenty of information spread across the Internet. I was thrilled.

However what I did not see- was ideas on how to make my voodoo spiffy. You would think, that somebody out there, would want to make a jazzed-up voodoo doll, like me. Well this hub is here to save the day! It is time to spice up your dolls, and give them some much needed glare.

Take this little guy to our right. Jazzing your voodoo doll up with letter shape, iron-on or sew on patches is a great idea. Whether the doll is for you or made for someone else, the letter initial can be the first letter to your name or nickname or to theirs as well. It is a simply way, and not to mention cheap way, to introduce a new look to voodoo. J-stands for Julie, that's me. In addition to that idea, you can also use an iron on patch to represent a favorite past-time, sport, flower, country and nationality. Like a clover leaf, for someone who might be Irish.

Now this guy to the right of us, is as cute as a voodoo doll can get. I love the snake patch on his leg, and the X's of yarn, for his hands and toes. However, what I love the most about this spiffy little doll, is the use of binder twine wrapped around his leg, and around his heart. Again, another cheap way to spice up your doll!

How could I forget to mention the different buttons for the eyes? As you can see, the doll maker chose two completely different, yet complimentary buttons as an extra focal point to observe. I wonder who this was made for?
