Flattering Wedding Dresses for Skinny Brides
77This short adventuresome, yet very sophisticated wedding dress is a sweeping look for tall brides, who are worried about looking a little too tall. As you can see for yourself, this dress is tucked and nipped in all the right places. Not only does this dress help to accent all the good parts that makes you you, it is effective in concealing any body parts, you might not want to be showcased on your big day. If you are by chance worried about something not looking right in a particular dress or fabric, choosing a dress like this, would be the perfect dress for you. Notice how the neckline on this dress, helps to showcase this models sexy body.
As many of you thin beauties already know, sometimes people can be harsh on skinning girls, for not having enough meat on their bones. Big girls have their worries too, and sometimes, there are certain body parts that shouldn't be showcased on any lady's wedding day. Romona Keveza uses silk taffeta here to make this dress. A real smart decision for any bride who wants a fabric that will stay in place. However, it's not only the choice of Romona's fabric here, it is also her exact placement of the delicate re-embroidered alecon-lace appliqués. They assist in accentuating the perfect fit.
Both of the materials used on this lovely gown, are slightly thicker fabrics than something made of jersey knit, raw silk, or crepe. However, that doesn't stop these gorgeous materials from appearing to be light and airy. Silk taffeta accentuated in re-embroidered alecon lace, is much more forgiving, than let's say materials like crepe and Chantilly lace. Crepe has a tendency to cling to the body, as does Chantilly lace. If this was a plus size bride, this dress would not help conceal the bride's flesh rolls, because crepe will lay too flat and cling to a plus-size girl's flesh. Just like a cotton sock will cling to a pant leg, when there is too much static electricity. Materials that don't have any body to them, like Crepe fabric, won't be very forgiving laying across any smaller brides, prominent bony structures such as; collar and shoulder bones. It will want to cup-in at dips and folds, and it doesn't not fair well if alterations need to be made.
Helps conceal: Shoulder blades, collar bones, small chest sizes, shoulders, elbows, and long arms.

Look B Elegance- Valentino Sposa
This straight, princess cut, waistline is another perfect match for a thinner beauty. Lace has a way of creating an illusion of fullness, without look overbearing or heavy. The one thing that all skinny brides need to keep in mind is the fabric. Heavy satin materials have a tendency to weigh down petite women. While this bulky material keeps a larger bride from looking too top heavy. If a petite bride wants her wedding dress to weigh more than she does on her wedding day, Satin fabric would be the perfect choice to choose.
What I also like about this particular dress, is it's stunning, boat cut, neckline. Which happens to be a really good feature for hiding collar bones, or somewhat concaved breast plate. Boat necklines tend to accent a skinny bride's lean neck, and striking facial features. At the same time it will helps to straighten out the look caused by having round shoulders. Boat necklines are good at hiding body features such as; the sternum, which is most often more noticeable if a skinny bride, chooses a plunging neckline. It is my personal opinion that the lace also adds to the dresses overall look, and is what gives it the feel sophistication and elegance.
Helps to conceal: Shoulders, shoulder blades, collar bones, concave breast plate.

Look C Stunning- Rosa Clara
This amazing Rosa Clara bridal gown, is my favorite for skinny brides. The off the shoulder neckline makes for a nice distraction from collar bones or flat chested breasts. The beautifully tucked darts at the waistline also helps to silhouette the appearance of curves. Especially needed for woman who happen to be built straight up and down. It's appeal is how it is able to create a dainty, and refined figure. Another feature to take note of is this dress unique waistline. Notice how the princesses darts suck in at the waist. A skinny bride who wears a dress designed like this one, should be walking down a Paris runway. Not only do the darts showcase this brides remarkable waistline, they are a essential necessity when wanting to accent a thinner brides, refined feminine figure. A dress like this one, also would help to lengthen a petite-size women's (who are 5'5 or under) torso.
Not all of us can be so blessed with a perfect figure, but, hey that is what this article is about. Celebrating the fact that we are all built uniquely different, but, admitting to ourselves that there also features about our bodies, in which we don't always think looks the best when standing in front of the mirror. It is okay if you aren't happy with the way you look. People shouldn't fault anyone for wanting to look or feel better about themselves. Therefore, if a petite bride wants to look taller on her big day, then a dress designed like this one, will do that for her on her wedding day.

These are all fabulous suggestions of style! I worked as a bridal consultant for 6 years and these were styles I would suggest to thin and petite brides who did not know what to start trying on first. I will also say that style C can be worn on the bigger brides who still have the "hourglass" to their figure. All of the texture from the ruffles at the bust and hips actually help diminish size, but the flat corset waist enhances their proportions. I am going to fan you immediately and look through some more bridal stuff as I ? it!!!
Great hub. I was (and still am) very skinny. I wore a basic sleeveless dress with a cowl neck. It went down to a heart waist then flared into a knee length skirt. I had it made because I couldn't find one I liked in my price range.
These are really tips of insight. Thanks for your great work.
Love this hub, and your ideas are great. Love your point of view, and that gown by Romona Keveza is gorgeous!
Great post, especially love the Rosa Clara gown, but their all beautiful!
LOVE THIS :) I am about to get married and I am rather thin, I wouldn't say I am really skinny but I decided on a mermaid dress. I LOVE IT. These designs are gorgeous!
I am planning on getting married and I am so worried that I'll look too skinny in my weeding dress... I Look like a kid and I am scared that every dress I find will look ugly on me because I am too too too thin!!
I will take all of this in mind when I am looking for my dress:)

My lovely wife and I had no wedding. We were married in the pastor's house with one friend of mine and the pastor's family in attendance. I can't imagine her in any of these beautiful dresses because even though they are beautiful, they wouldn't do her justice. It's hard to imagine any that would. I think that's why most guys wouldn't pick out wedding dresses for their women even if they had a chance. I suppose if I had to choose, I'd go with B. With the exposed shoulders (like C.)your eyes are torn between going up and down. Us guys can't handle a decision that big, up down up down. Too much to think about when you are scared to death to begin with. Sexy beautiful sexy beautiful vows playtime vows playtime. How can any guy keep his cool in such cases? I say elegant with a great dose of feminity. Lacy but not provocative (remember we have to be there when we are promising - not be picturing what could be done in it on a trampoline). "I do? I do what? Oh, oh yeah, I do."
